The EIA has released an Excel add-in that will let you pull data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) and St. Louis Federal Reserve’s Economic Data (FRED) that are publicly available and typically in weekly or monthly increments directly into your Excel workbook. It expands on the functionality from the Federal Reserve Excel add-in called FRED.
You can pull things like 30 year fixed mortgage rates, Case Shiller Housing, WTI Oil Prices, GDP Deflator, M1/M2 Money Supply and dozens of other metrics. The 30 year fixed mortgage data goes back 30 years.
